Recupera Chile - Fall 2016 updates
In September, Dr. Lili Peacock-Chambers presented the work of the Recupera Chile Child Mental Health team at the first Medecins Sans Frontieres Paediatric Days conference in Stockholm, Sweden. The presentation focused on a qualitative study of child well-being and community recovery, four years after a natural disaster in Chile.
Recupera Chile - Visit to Baton Rouge Area Foundation
In July, Marcela Renteria, Executive Director for the DRCLAS Regional Office (RO), and Pilar del Canto, Recupera Chile Project Manager, visited the Baton Rouge Area Foundation (BRAF), through an invitation from John Davies, President and CEO of BRAF, and DRCLAS Advisory Committee member, after his recent visit to the communities supported by the Recupera Chile initiative.
Recupera Chile: New Collaborations
Last December, John Davies, President and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and DRCLAS Advisory Committee member, Edmund Giering, General Counsel of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, and Tim Carruthers, Director of Coastal Ecology at the Water Institute of the Gulf, visited the communities served by the Recupera Chile in the past five years.
Recupera Chile: New January Program
As part of Recupera Chile and in collaboration with DRCLAS, Judith Palfrey, Professor of Pediatrics at the Harvard Medical and Chair of the DRCLAS Regional Office Advisory Group, developed a new winter January program for Harvard undergraduates with experience and interest in marine biology.
